Chihuahua - Adult - Female

Abby has been waiting for more than 4 years to have her own happily ever after.

Sweet Abby was a long time stray seen in the coffee park area for around a year and a half, who gave birth to a litter the night of the 2017 Sonoma County fires. She was finally captured with her newborns and taken in by another rescue. Her pups all found homes but nobody wanted a scared brown chihuahua that didn’t even know how to walk on a leash.

Abby was recently transferred to Dogwood when her foster home suffered a family tragedy. She quickly picked up leash training and loves to go for walks now. She gets along well with cats and other dogs and is a bright, responsive little girl who is easy to handle once she trusts you. She’s about 9 pounds, warms up slowly and is still terrified of even the kindest, gentlest man but will make a wonderful companion in a patient, loving home. Abby is a quiet girl who uses a dog door.
