Baby Kaia
Baby Kaia made her way to us from a crowded Central Valley shelter today via awesome volunteer pilot and ground transporters. She’s a Great Dane puppy of maybe 3 months old with a nasty femur break. Here’s the info we were given.
“They said a homeless woman called her in. She has lots of cuts on her,some old. Not in line with dog bite or car accident, maybe inflicted by people?”
We don’t want to speculate on what happened to her because we just don’t know, but clearly her life hasn’t been easy. But what a sweet, gentle baby she is, passing out kisses and tail wags freely and appreciative of any little kindness. She went potty outside, ate some dinner, and has mostly just slept all evening in her warm soft bed in the house. She’s awaiting a surgery consult as soon as we can get her in.
