We love all animals but we have such a soft spot for the hard luck abandoned seniors. The old ones who have clearly had a rough life. Many have likely lived their entire lives outside, denied the love, comfort and care they deserve, and then tossed aside. When we rescue a senior, it’s their last chance to live a beautiful life. Their last chance to know love.
Rescuing these long neglected seniors is often more expensive and they frequently need initial dental care, blood work, mass removal etc, costing thousands of dollars (we take care of that) plus they are harder to find homes for. So why do we do it?
Because they deserve it.
This darling girl was found filthy and matted with the typical painful wounds from foxtails working through the mats and into her skin. Easter is 15 pounds and probably somewhere around 10-12 years old. She’s got some lumps and bumps too. Our shelter friends had to shave her down completely to remove the mats and foxtails.
We’re going to get her all fixed up and then she’ll need someone to love her forever.
