This darling girl is an emaciated senior Cattledog type mix weighing just 22 pounds. She was running out of options in a shelter kennel before coming to Dogwood. Her body shows the sign of a tough life and many litters of pups. Her worn teeth have likely chewed her skin after fleas until they are nubs. She’s got some mammary masses and a distended abdomen, and life appears to not have been kind to sweet Rosie, but she’s a Dogwood dog now and this good girl is going to be loved and cared for whether she has months or years left. She’s likely around 12 years old and such a love.
Those of us who have adopted senior pets will tell you what absolute joy they can bring.
And it’s their last chance to have the life they deserve.
