Sweet Roger came to us with his 3 brothers from a humane case out of the county. After being seized by animal control for neglect they spent a month in a shelter. They got good care but very much need socializing and one on one attention so they’ve been transferred to us. Roger is the most sensitive of the group so he’s been getting lots of treats and affection away from his brothers. He’s blossoming with the attention.

People often assume pups like Roger are “bonded” to their siblings and should stay together but they really tend to do so much better when we can spend time with just them. Roger started out frantic to avoid human touch but within hours of being separated from his brothers, Roger is starting to greet us with a wagging tail and looking for treats. He loves other dogs too so he’s learning from the rest of the Dogwood gang.

Making a difference, one animal at a time.
