It’s kitten season and kittens are being born or finding themselves in need everywhere we look. Daisy, her littermates, and her momma arrived in our care when her owner could not care for them.

Daisy’s mom was tested for FeLV and FIV and she is FIV positive. Kittens under six months of age may test falsely positive after having received antibodies from their mothers, either in utero or via milk. It can take up to six months for these antibodies to go away. Thus, it is a good idea to retest a kitten testing positive after reaching six months of age. We have no way of knowing if Daisy will be FIV positive but the good news is many cats can live long healthy lives with FIV and can even live with other cats that do not have the infection as long as they get along. FIV is spread by deep bite wounds and breeding so altered cats that live peacefully are considered safe. Please read the link for more info

Daisy is very cuddly and adventurous. She loves cuddles and chasing toys with her siblings. She is ready to find a family and home of her own. Are you looking for a new family member?
